Thyrocare acquires Aptio automation solution by Siemens

Thyrocare, a leader in preventive healthcare diagnosis has acquired Aptio by Siemens on 14th March 2014. Invented by Siemens, Aptio is the world’s longest lab automation track, which will highly enhance the specimen processing capacity at all the Thyrocare’s regional and central processing laboratories. It will also help in delivery of the reports across India within minimum turn around time (TAT).
Aptio Laboratory Automation System (LAS) is equipped with 158 meters long track which will assist in optimizing laboratory resources and operations by connecting Input, Output, Pre Processing and Post processing Modules with In Vitro Diagnostics analyzers. With its integrated intelligent LIS systems and CentraLink data management system, Aptio offers a unified solution that will transform lab operations. Aptio is fully fitted with a total of 31 instruments, 10 rack loading / unloading robots and five decappers.
Stressing on the importance of lab automations, Dr. Velumani, CMD of Thyrocare said, “Aptio is a highly sophisticated Laboratory Automation System, and Thyrocare is the first company in India to acquire this state-of-the-art technology.
